Your price depends on your home. Electrical panel capacity, what you want backed up, any needed upgrades, permit requirements and utility rules all affect the final price. We confirm everything during a free site visit before you sign anything. SGIP rebates depend on eligibility and available funding; HDM prepaid financing is subject to approval and qualification.

Financing: Ally Electric & Solar is a participating contractor with GoGreen Home Energy Financing, a California program that helps homeowners get better loan terms for energy upgrades. Solar plus battery projects can be financed for up to 20 years and $75,000, at the lender's discretion. A battery on its own qualifies when your home already has solar. Approval, rates and terms are set by the participating lender, not by Ally. Learn more at GoGreenFinancing.com. Need financing? In our customers' words

What Bay Area homeowners say

★★★★★

"I recently had solar panels and a battery installed by Ally through PG&E's SGIP program. Nur was on top of the ever-changing requirements and paperwork, and Metin and the crew were great to work with through permitting and installation. So far it's working great and I love using almost all my own energy!"

"A rare find — a small family-owned business with honesty, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail. Their installers are their own employees, no outsourcing to third-party vendors. We contacted almost a dozen solar companies before selecting Ally. Our best contractor experience in 48 years of home ownership."

Questions, answered

Home battery FAQ

Can I get a home battery without solar?
Yes. A battery like the Tesla Powerwall 3 or FranklinWH aPower 2 can be installed on its own. It keeps essential circuits running during outages and can charge from the grid at cheaper off-peak hours. You can add solar later.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar system?
In most cases, yes. We add Tesla Powerwall 3, FranklinWH and Enphase batteries to existing solar, including older NEM 1 and NEM 2 systems. We check your inverter, panel and interconnection during the free site visit.
How long will a battery run my house during an outage?
It depends on what you back up. A Tesla Powerwall 3 stores 13.5 kWh, enough for essentials like the fridge, lights, Wi-Fi and some outlets for many hours, and longer when solar recharges it. Whole-home backup may need two batteries.
How much does a home battery cost in the Bay Area?
One Tesla Powerwall 3 or Enphase IQ Battery 10C starts at $15,000 installed, before rebates. The price goes up with a panel upgrade, extra batteries or other site work. We give you a clear, itemized price after a free site visit, including any SGIP rebate or GoGreen financing you qualify for.
Are there rebates for home batteries in California?
The SGIP program can pay part of a home battery for eligible customers, depending on funding. Ally is an SGIP-approved developer and files the paperwork for you. The 30% federal tax credit for homeowners ended for systems installed after December 31, 2025.
Do I need a new electrical panel for a battery?
Sometimes. Older or full panels may need an upgrade or a smart panel. Because we hold both C-10 electrical and C-46 solar licenses, we handle the panel work and the battery in one job.
